It is estimated that 9,195 new COVID-19 cases and 302 deaths occurred in the past 24 hours in India, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
With this, the country’s COVID-19 case count has risen to 3,48,08,886 cases, with 4,80,592 deaths.
According to the Ministry, India’s active caseload is currently at 77,002, accounting for 0.22 percent of the country’s total positive cases, the lowest level since March 2020.
Until now, India has had 781 Omicron cases, according to the health ministry.
The state of Delhi has the most Omicron cases (283), followed by Maharashtra (167), Gujarat (73), Karnataka (34), Kerala (65), Rajasthan (46), Telangana (62), Haryana (12), West Bengal (11), Tamil Nadu (34), Madhya Pradesh (9), Odisha (8), Andhra Pradesh (6), Uttarakhand (4), Uttar Pradesh (2), Chandigarh (3), Jammu and Kashmir (3), Goa (1).
The Government has taken immediate actions to prevent the spread of the variant. The resurgence of the virus has made many alerts and it is expected that the Government has taken all the necessary measures to avoid a shortage of Oxygen concentrators or Oxygen cylinders.
